Chromatin landscapes

51st Course

Purpose of the Course

The 51st Course of the International School of Biophysics «Antonio Borsellino» will explore the physical principles underlying chromatin organization and dynamics, and how chromatin structure contributes to the regulation of biological function and cellular identity.

Chromatin is a highly dynamic and multiscale system in which DNA, proteins and molecular interactions generate complex spatial and temporal organization. Understanding these landscapes requires the integration of concepts and methods from biophysics, molecular and cellular biology, quantitative imaging, structural biology and computational modelling.

The Course will bring together internationally recognized scientists and young researchers to discuss current advances in chromatin biophysics, from molecular-scale mechanisms to higher-order genome organization and their relationship with biological function.

Particular attention will be devoted to the connection between physical reality and biological destiny, exploring how physical properties, molecular interactions and chromatin architecture influence gene regulation, cellular states and biological processes.
